FLUENT 6. 3.26 and Nehalem or Westmere Processors - Performance Issue - Processors Affinity

ANSYS is not aware of any major issues that prevents FLUENT 6.3 from running on Nehalem or Westmere machines. There could be processor affinity issues with FLUENT 6.3.26 as this version was developed for single or dual-processor machines before the core processors were introduced.

If you do experience a performance issue as a workaround you could turn off Processor Affinity using the scheme command below:

You set this command in the FLUENT 6.3.26 window BEFORE you read in the case and/or journal file

(define (set-affinity argv) (display "set-affinity disabled"))

A permanent solution is to upgrade your version of FLUENT to a new release.
