Installing and Configuring the FLUENT Fieldview License
(if you currently have an existing version of Fieldview installed)

The Fieldview Installation Guide is located on the Fieldview CD ROM. Please refer to this document for complete information on installing Fieldview. If you have the full version of Fieldview from Intelligent Light currently installed, install FLUENT'S Fieldview in a different directory from the full version, for example, /usr/local/Fluent.Inc/fieldview8.1. 1.Open up the license.dat file and append the Fieldview FEATURE lines, for example, FEATURE ffv ilight 8.1 30-dec-2003 2 ACDEF3BFCECDFA71F63C VENDOR_STRING="fv fidap-fvuns polyflow-fvuns +wf27265fwf" ISSUED=27-jun-2001 to your existing FIELDVIEW license. 2.Shutdown and Restart the Fieldview license manager. 3.Copy the SERVER line from your Fieldview license to: /usr/local/Fluent.Inc/fieldview8.1/fv/data/license.dat. 4.Add the line, USE_SERVER, below the SERVER line. The complete /usr/local/Fluent.Inc/fieldview8.1/fv/data/license.dat file will look something like this: SERVER fvlicserver 123456789 7241 USE_SERVER Note: If you have more than one platform running FLUENT'S Fieldview, you may have changed the directory, /usr/local/Fluent.Inc/fieldview8.1/fv to another directory, for example, /usr/local/Fluent.Inc/fieldview8.1/solaris. In that case, the license file would be located in /usr/local/Fluent.Inc/fieldview8.1/solaris/data/license.dat. |
