Instructions for Combining your Artwork License with your ANSYS License on the ANSYS License Server


1.Open up your email with the Artwork license and copy all the text starting with the line:
VENDOR artwork. DO NOT copy the line that begins with the word SERVER. If it exists, DELETE the text,"enter_path_to_daemon" on the VENDOR line.

2.Open up the ANSYS license.dat file located in C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensing directory and paste the contents at the end of your ANSYS license file.
3.Save the license.dat file.
4.Download the Artwork daemons located here artwork.zip
5.Extract the contents to a temporary location.
6.Copy the artwork.exe daemon and paste it into C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwin32 orC:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwin64 (depending on what architecture of the License Manager you are running, 32 or 64 bit).
7.Stop the ANSYS, Inc. License Manager using the Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility
8.Click on Install the License File and browse to C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensinglicense.dat
9.Start the ANSYS, Inc. License Manager

*Setting up a Client Machine*

Set an Environment Variable with a Variable Name of ARTWORK_LICENSE_FILE and a value of1055@license_server_name, using the correct server name. (If you are not sure of the correct license server name, contact your Systems Administrator for assistance.

Windows XP
1.Open up Control Panel, System, Advanced, Environment Variables.
2.Under User Variables or System Variables, click the New button.
3.In the Variable text box type: ARTWORK_LICENSE_FILE
4.In the Value text box type: 1055@License_Server_Name.
5.Click OK.

Windows Vista and Windows 7
1.Open up Control Panel, User Accounts, Change my environment variables
2.Under User Variables or System Variables, click the New button.
3.In the Variable text box type: ARTWORK_LICENSE_FILE
4.In the Value text box type: 1055@License_Server_Name.
5.Click OK.
