unpredictable results in a transient species run
A converged flow solution was found for turbulent flow in a reservoir. Then a tracer analysis was performed by running species transport transient on the existing flow field. - tracer analysis highly dependent on the diffusion coefficient; - for a certain difussion coefficient - the species virtually get stuck in a certain area and do not get convected further - in other cases species shoot off through the domain very fast As a first test do a contour of density for the mixture. If that's not what you expect (around ~1000kg/m^3 in the case of water) check the density of the components. In this case the volume-weighted-mixing-law was used for density and the density for the tracer component was wrong. Make sure that you change the default incompressible-ideal-gas law for density if the fluid is not a gas. |
